Commissions

Golden Moon, a textured mixed media seascape painting by Jo Frost that has inspired commissions.

Commission a Bespoke Artwork

Jo Frost welcomes a small number of commissioned pieces each year, created in close collaboration with her clients.

Working to each client’s brief, Jo remains true to her distinctive style — textured, expressive works filled with movement, energy and life. Commissions often draw inspiration from a favourite bay, a powerful ocean wave or a meaningful coastal scene. At times, personal elements may also be incorporated, such as family members, a beloved dog, or subtle human presence within the landscape.

The commission process is designed to be enjoyable and engaging for both artist and client. It begins with an initial discussion to explore ideas and intent, followed by sketch work to refine the composition and direction of the piece. As the artwork develops, clients are kept updated with progress images and notes via WhatsApp or email. Local clients are always welcome to visit the gallery or studio to view the work as it progresses.

Finishing details are agreed collaboratively, including whether the piece is resined or left unresined, framed or painted on panel. Delivery can also be arranged where required.

A commissioned artwork can mark a special moment or hold deep personal meaning — perhaps as a wedding or anniversary gift, a way to remember a favourite place, celebrate a milestone, or simply because you connect with and love Jo’s work. Each piece is created with care, intention and individuality, making it truly one of a kind.
