Ebb / Thirst

Inspired by the fragile balance between abundance and scarcity, where water once moved freely, and where its absence is now deeply felt.

This diptych explores the tension between opposing states. Flow and stillness. Saturation and dryness. Life and depletion.

Each panel measures 100 x 100 cm, working together as a single piece while holding their own distinct presence. The composition is designed to be displayed either together or with a small gap between, allowing space for the energy to shift and breathe between the two.

Movement builds through the surface, layered, textured, and expressive, echoing the force of water in motion, and the quiet, fractured stillness left behind.

There is both power and vulnerability here. A sense of something changing.

Materials such as shellac, casein, volcanic sand and crushed shells are embedded within the work, adding depth and a tactile connection to the natural world, reinforcing the dialogue between land and sea.
